That lonesome tree
once stood
like a sentinel
its vibrant roots
silently burgeoning
in receptive soil
And now
like an old man
grieving his lost youth
tree limbs
hang limply
toward the parched earth
A single drop of sunlit
sap evokes arboreal
memories
when seed first sown
by timeworn winds
took root
and blossomed
into life's
uncertainties
